I shot the Hoyt Maxxis 31 and 35 a week ago and they seem very similar to a Alphamax IMO maybe a bit easier to draw but I did not shoot them side by side

Today I stopped and shot the new Z7 from Mathews and the New Hoyt Alphaburner

Mathews Z7
IBO 332
30'' ATA
7'' brace height
I wish they made a 34''-35'' ATA in this model because it would be very hard not to buy one.....
The new riser design will be loved or hated
The new grip is super IMO compared to the older style. It seems much slimmer
The draw is very very nice IMO.I shot it at 70lbs
The bow had a deadstop on it and seemed very dead and quiet after the shot
The bow held really well but it seems funny having that short ATA in my hand
The bow was set at 29'' and shot 322 on the chrono so that is right at ibo rating with a loop and whisker bisquit only
The overall finish seems great yet the bow has a unique look with the red accents and monkey tails and the riser design

I say if ya like a 30'' ata bow this would be a good one for sure:cheers:

Hoyt Alphaburner
IBO 340
ATA 34.75''
6'' brace height
I did not know what to think about the Alphaburner when all the specs were released.Today I was able to try one out.
The bow had a very smooth draw but seemed to load up at approx 3/4 draw. Now big hump at the end at all.
The bow held really really nice at full draw. The Spiral X cams have a very managable 70% let off.If ya let off the wall they will go but it does not try to rip the arm off
The bow was a touch louder than my AM35
The bow maxed at 62lbs and set at 29'' also met the ibo speed rating
The finish was great and I personally like the look of the bow
The bow has a floating yoke system and at rest the cams/limbs are slightly torqued. It seemed odd but they were.It looks like a static yoke cable could fix the issue. And it may just need a slight adjustment to what is there as it just came out of the box.
If the shop sponsers me I'd say I will shoot a 60lb AB this year for 3D

2 great and if ya get a chance try them out and add to this thread:cheers:

Now I shall wait for the Bowtech Destroyer to hit the shelf:pop:

[rquote=1459025&tid=101943&author=Radar] I'm not a big fan of short bows , but the Mathews sounds like the better of the two . I prefer a higher brace height on a short bow and smooth draw cycle .
I'll keep what I have for right now .[/rquote]

I like a longer ATA bow but after people shoot this they will sell many I'm sure
