What's a great way to find where on your string to put a kisser button? I heard if you place it on you string so it settles on your canine tooth, you will have a rock solid anchor point vs. the corner of your mouth?

I don't use a kisser button. I let the string touch the tip of my nose as an anchor point.

If you think about it, when hunting with face mask on, it would be kind of difficult to hit your anchor point because of the mask. Whether it be a mesh or wintery mask.

I quit using one years ago also. They're a good way to get a good anchor point. I don't think the corner of the mouth on on a tooth would matter. Personal deal like so many other things in archery.

Hey buddy, are you going to go out and contribute to the Gobble getter's or what? I'm waiting for you so slam a big ole stud, to catapolt us to the top of the leader board.
Don't make me drive all the way up there, or have you drive all the way over to Bolivar for me to call you in a Turkey...but I would do it to help a team memeber out.:

Kisser buttons....the archer's pacifier ;) Throw the thing away.:2thumbsup: Concentrate on your form and anchor point. I might suggest a look at them for someone just starting to shoot, maybe a child, but lose it as soon as possible.

EXCEPT for the traditional archer, aren't all of the add ons, compounds, and composites just "pacifiers"? Don't we all use "pacifiers" of some sort, EXCEPT for the traditional archer? So in fact isn't one man's "pacifier" one man's necessity?

I'm just sayin.

MoBo, what's happenin?

Just pick a few anchor points (i.e. string to knows, string in corner of the mouth, knuckle behind ear, etc) and make sure you repeat the exact same thing each time. It's just personal preference as to what you actually use as your anchor points.

Some people use what they call a "snotter" on the string where the tip of there nose should be. It's essentially the same thing as a kisser, except for your nose and not the corner of your mouth. The snotter can be a brass nock or some thread/floss wrapped onto the string.

:hysterical::hysterical: Just got back to this thread, and bascailly if you wanted to look at it that way, your absolutely right.:D

My theroy on the kisser is your just adding a non essential item on your bow string, that if your doing things right to begin with, is not needed in any way. It basically used for only 1 purpose and that is to ensure a proper anchor point. With your equipment set up properly, and alittle practice the anchor point will come naturally, which renders the Kisser useless.

Now, as I mentioned before, for a new shooter it will help estabilish that anchor point. But should be removed as soon as possible. In many ways it can create a false sense of security. "The kisser is where it should be, so I'am ready to shoot". When more attention should be paid to your shooting form and follow thru.

Just my .02 :D

I don't use a peep, so the kisser is critical for me. Kisser in the corner of the mouth, got to keep you mouth closed and make sure it isn't pulling at the corner of your mouth. Direct center of the nose where the cartilage kindof separates is point #2 for me.

I am thinking of just giving my bow to MoBo and letting him shoot it for me. I have not got a turkey yet. That means I have not missed one yet either, I haven't takin a shot at one either.

I hate kisser buttons with a passion.

Easiest thing to do is get your peep lined up correctly and with the right size appeture, and use the tip of your nose for an anchor. Tip of your nose doesn't move, corner of your mouth will.

If you have the string on your nose at the same place, which is easy to repeat, and you have the proper sight picture you are in the same place EVERy time. No better way to do it.
Watch the top shooters in the world for a good start to proper form, you will see VERY few kisser buttons and it wouldn't surprise me if there were none.

Shoot themselves. Now you're dreamin ther Pops.

As far as the kisser button, 86 it and go with what comes natural.
