Bird seed for food plots?

After having Parrots for many years and tossing out the uneaten seeds and seeing them sprout, I gots ta thinkin". Has anyone ever intentionally planted a bird seed mix for wildlife? In the Parrot mix there are a whole bunch of different grains along with corn and sunflower seeds. Most contain milo, flax, oats, rape, sesame, canary grass seed and a few others I can't remember

Not terribly expensive as seeds go and wildlife, including deer would have a regular buffet!:eek::

Is this plot going for the birds radio?
No, but this thread might go there:D. I don't have any place to make a real plot other than some throw and grow. The parrot mix I bought doesn't list thistle as the seeds are too small for bigger birds as a rule.
I can see where some seeds could be a nuisance or invasive though.
