There's a bait shop in columbia that sells the fiberglass ones. Can't remember the name of the shop. A friend of mine gets them there. They aren't cheap though, the 3/4" 12 foot are $12 each.

The solid fiberglass work much better than the pvc.
But I did catch a 50 lb flathead on a 10 foot 1" sch 40 pvc pole.

Get to home depo or lowes and get some 1/2" pvc and cut'em however long you need them to be, get some 80lb power pro for line and you are set for the most part, also be sure to cut the backs of them at an angle so its easier to get them down into the bank.

Last year there was a fishing store in Brunswick that had good ones at a VERY reasonable price. Not sure if he is still in business or not

[rquote=2393876&tid=166981&author=Modeerhunter]PVC will snap like a twig in cold weather, something to keep in mind. [/rquote]

Gotta use the right pvc, can't just grab any ole kind. I preferr fiberglass blanks if i can get them cheap though.

Years ago when I set bank poles I always used cane but in Oklahoma cane thickets werent too hard to find . Cut it , clean it , and let it cure for a few months before you use it and it will last forever .

Hickory makes a good stout bank pole that will last several years. I used alot of willow back in the day, but it is a one year setup (they get abit brittle the second year) . Bank poling is fun. Be sure and put reflective tape on the poles and watch em dance in the spotlight on the nites the cats are biting good:2thumbsup:

We tie cowbells to ours! You can fish rod and reel from the boat and if one gets on the pole line the bells will start ringin.
