Youth Hunt

Im sure its not dads or moms on this site, but I sure see and hear alot of slob hunters in my area.
The kids are supposed to be learning the right and legal way to hunt. I heard several shots yesterday prior to legal shooting hours and the same after legal hours. Same thing this morning.

I know you want your son or daughter to fill their tags but what they learn now will be assumed correct in the future when they are adults.

Another peeve for me is the road hunting. Just exactly what do you plan to do if you see a deer. Teach the kids tresspassing. I live on a road 3/4 of a mile long no hunting on either side but only my house on the road. Youd think I live on the main street of Bethany.

So much for my rant.

Had 1 road poacher in 25 years. When he stopped and cut my fence to get his buck out I shot 2 of his tires out of his little Honda Accord ! It was easy for the sheriff to find him. Since I have not had a problem with road poachers. Couple of years after that I was in the liquor store getting cigarettes when I over heard these 2 young guys talking about road poaching and one said well let's stay off 1050 that guy down that way will shoot your tires. I just started laughing and they both looked at me and I said I am that guy. They high tailed it out of there fast!!!

Good thing you are so easy going and they didn’t run into Cy:clap:
The youth I took last night was not happy when he finally got a deer in his crosshairs and I told him it was to late he couldn’t shoot. He was much happier when he shot an 8 pointer this morning.

Your not one of the guys that think everyone driving down the road is a road hunter? This time of year a lot of people like to drive around and look at the deer and fall colors. Some people just like to drive around and drink road sodas.

I remember my Grandpa telling me a couple stories about thieves.

He was having firewood stolen.
He drilled a few holes in some sticks
and filled them with black powder and plugged them.
He never told Grandma.
A few day later, he found out who was stealing firewood when the neighbor's wood stove blew up!!

One other time he noticed a ham that was curing was missing.
Again, he never mentioned it to Grandma or anyone else for that matter.
A few months later at the sale barn, a guy approached him. The guy mentioned that Grandpa had had a ham missing.
Having said nothing to anyone, Grandpa figured out who stole his ham!
