we all know my thoughts. and my positive reply is i sure wish we could build one in Mr. Busch' back year on the east side of the state to pay him for his generosity. lets see, right now 90 thousand ducks are being held there which normally would be spread out on the smaller waters closer to home. yep, i love them.

OK, then why have managed hunts? Shouldn't those properties be open to ANY licensed hunter during all seasons?

It's just not feasible. Sucks. But that's life.

Duck park - lots of driving with little chance of hunting. ummm, I would much rather they not be there and actually have a decent number of ducks using the waters closer to home. :boohoo:

Hmm reading comprehension would have helped here... I am talking about managed hunts in my post (comparing them to the duck parks)...

Ok, so what isnt feasable, public duck hunting open to all? or public deer hunting open to all with no managed hunts anywhere.....and I doubt the problem is just my ability to comprehend what I read.....I may be a numbers guy, but I am not without any reading skills.

i believed it was comprehended. two different types of hunting for two different reasons. i like to often wonder since we put a man on the moon, is it feasable that we try to improve on butter:confused:

I wish I had been around prior to the duck parks to acuattly have some first hand knowledge about how the duck hunting was

i have some theories but they are just that I suspect back then alot more people got to shot at duckies but i also suspect there probley wasn't but a week or two of good hunting as i suspect they didn't still around as long but flew on thew the state....

but i have nothing other than theory to base that on.....
its a fact north missouri parks hold alot of green heads that never make it to ARK any more....so did more missouri folks get to shoot at them on the way threw back in the day or did they even stop here? i don't know.

Missouri does have other public land that can be hunted with out drawing in to a duck park not like thats the only option...

i also know other states do have areas that are "duck parks" as well that require a draw be it the same day or earlier but there is versons of our duck parks else where...just sayin

I know many of the old timeres hate the duck parks here in mo and saythey shot many more ducks prior to them i don't argue that a bit but over all i wonder is there more total ducks being killed now then then? just spread out over more folks or not?

again i never got to hunt before duck parks so its hard to say are they good or bad when thats all you really know is life post duck park LOL

Yep ducks dont make it to ark and further...

Yep there are areas where you dont have to draw in, BUT because of the duck parks holding the ducks its rare that you can be successful there day in.. day out.

Yes other states do have similar draws that we do, other states also have it where you dont draw, its first come first served..
