The heaviest turkey I ever got weighed 25.5 lbs. Another was 24.5.
I sometimes hear of bigger birds - what's your biggest?

24 lbs and some change. Probably 97% of the gobblers I kill go between 19.5 and 22 lbs. I only hunt in Missouri though. I hear they go a little bigger up in Iowa.

27 1/2 lbs, 12 1/2" beard and 1 spur 1 1/2" and the other 1 3/8". I am personally looking for those limb hanger spurs and not weight or beard length, unless it has 3 or more beards.

I will add most of mine have also been in the 20-22lb range and a few lighter. Running into big heavy birds after the first couple weeks of breeding is hard to do. Unless they are lazy.:D
