Horntagger,

Dr Bret Collier was on the Turkeys for Tomorrow podcast and explained that nest predation has been classified incorrectly and racoons opossum and skunks are not the issue.

Thanks I sell all my trapping gear tomorrow. Get rid of my National Trappers Association. I be sure and tell everyone that trapping is a waste of your time and trapping recuitement and retention is the work of the devil.

Appreicate it -Save me tons of money and time.

Horntagger,

Thats not what anyone is saying and I hope you dont do that. Trapping is an excellent recreational activity and a lot of fun. The NTA is a great organization. Recruiting more trappers etc is a great thing, but it is unlikely to help turkeys unless habitat is in place in sufficient quantities in the area.

Small property the one guy on here has already said I wasting my time on my presribed first for the past 10 years, and as a small landowner I wasting my time on habitat. I should form a COOP but my neighbor is the 9,000 acres of MDC. So why would I waste my time. I don't need the recreational activity and furs are worthless. All I keep hearing is give up it's all a waste of time.

Think I just deer hunt. Until MDC comes in wipes out the deer herd for CWD on the public ground

Horntagger,

Who said that? Improving habitat is never a waste of time no matter the size, but it is unrealistic to think that 80 acres will influence 9,000 acres. Your property may just need a change in focus or slight tweak to make it produce more poults. Again, many of us would be happy to lend you a fresh set of eyes if you want. As a landowner I know that at times I have needed someone else to give me a fresh perspective.

Ok... Keep making giant incoherent cut and paste posts that nobody reads. That's really getting the message across.

I will keep it short for just you! - It feels like I am in a battle of wits, and it is not a fair fight, since I seem to be going up against an unarmed man! Short enough!

I have been out scouting multiple times this spring and hatch was far from BRUTAL in my areas . I saw at least 20 Jakes this morning in one group. Your doom and gloom posts about the Turkey pop. are gettin FN old.
