I've seen several folks asking about blood tracking dogs recently.

Who all knows of someone that does have one? Not saying that it is going to be available to anyone here. I'm just interested to know about breed and the dog's training.

I plan on working my new lab on it. She will start out as a shed dog, and we will move forward from there.

If there are some training books or videos out there that folks know of, I'm interested to hear about them!

I figure shed hunting and finding dead carcasses while doing that will be a huge help.

DIESEL AS YOU KNOW IS A WEIMARINER, WHO HATES WATER! BUT HE WILL CHASE A DEER OR HOG DOWN ANY DAY. HE TOOK OFF ON A COYOTE THAT WE SHOT A COUPLE WEEKS AGO AND FOLLOWED RIGHT TO HIM. SENT HIM ON A DEER LAST YEAR. NEVER HAS HE FOUND A SHED. HE JUST LIKES TO BE OUT WITH HIS NOSE TO THE GROUND.

I AM SURE YOU WILL KNOW RIGHT OFF IF THAT POOCH WILL LIKE THAT SORT OF STUFF.

:rof2: Yes, I would consider that an advantage in several different directions. :rof2:

I got a feeling a deer would hold it's own a lot better than most people
