I used to drink a lot of rye. It's my preferred whiskey for cocktails still. My favorite to drink neat is Pikesville Rye (without spending huge $...) but High West makes a number of good ones. Most ryes on the market these days are all sourced from MGP in Indiana, though, so its hard to get excited about checking out a lot of different brands. I've had moonshine a few times, and white dog (fresh distillate off a legal still) straight from the tail box on many tours, but don't care for it. Sure, its hot stuff, but it definitely is raw in flavor.
