I hunted yesterday and today.. had 21 encounters sat am pm and 10 encounters tonight. All doe coming out to the fields. Should I be hunting the timber for the bucks? are they usually grouped up? still a lot of fun.. thanks
 I say keep with the fields in the evenings, and stay til the last of light. Get in stand as early as possible so you don't bump any deer going in to get set up.
If you are hunting the field edge you might try getting back toward the bedding area 50 yards or so. You won't see as much of the field that way and might miss something but if the bucks are showing up a bit later than the does, moving back could be the ticket.
They`re HIDING! I had em so predictable on my trail cam during shooting hours, until 2 days before ML season opener. Now gone, like they new it was coming
I think they are spending most of their daytime in heavy cover. Then they are traveling and checking doe's mostly under cover of darkness. Stay near the doe's and like Parker said use every bit of daylight in the evenings. If you get real lucky a young doe will pop into heat and the bucks will be in the open during daylight hours. (.02)
we've been hunting in the morning . have set in this one stand 4 different times and have seen a total of 64 does. the bucks have been leaving dropping on the ground but thats it. before gun season the bucks crusing this draw that is next to a field.
I Keep hearing hunt food late season, while I have no doubt they come to eat we are seeing all of our deer way back in the middle of the woods, I'm talking 1/4 to a mile from any crops.

Is that on morning huints or evening hunts??? If we hunt mornings late season we hunt deep,,and hunt closer to food for the evenings.(.02)
