I think you'd be ok in the next week or two IF they are not too stressed and the temperatures stay moderate.

Do you HAVE to mow? Only worried about the weeds?

well I'm going to have to mow the trails anyway so I thought while I'm at it I could give the clover another trimming..dont want them to get too stemmy ( Ladino/Aslike mix) and topping off the weeds as well I didn't think would be a bad thing
My clover was thick and very lush when i was at my place a few weeks ago. I was worried that a dry spell would kill it if I mowed. So I let it be. It’s almost pure clover w very little weedage in it.

I am no esspert, but figured it was my best option.
We normally mow early to mid August. This year we mowed in late July because of the stand getting rank and weeds coming in. Foxtail may cause us to mow again but we won't clip much off the clover when we do.

my mower does not sit very high unless I just dangle it in the air using nothing but the 3 point as support and that gives me the willies doing it like that so unless I do that it'll be about 6-7inches tall.

I was always taught the wheel on a brush hog shouldn't ride the ground it only hits when needed. That's how hey have always been setup on the farm and never had an issue.
