When do you......

Me and a buddy got into a argument over when to fertilize and lime. I fertilize and lime when I seed. He said the proper way is to fertilize and lime 2 weeks prior to seeding. Was wondering what everyone’s thoughts were on this subject. I punched him in the nose. Then we smoked a cigar and drank some whiskey. So all is good.

I was told you are suppose to lime during the summer but I always do it like you do.Peletized lime pretty gets into the soil quickly. If using Ag lime might be when you are suppose to do it well before planting.Someone else will know more I can’t remember exactly but I do know I do it just like you do currently
When you got the $$$, equipment and most importantly the Time! ;)

Shouldnt Lime and fertilize at the same time ,unless the soil is nuetral ....Typically lime first ,,Fertilize a coulpe 3 weeks later ,,,,Shouldnt punch your friend in the nose either ,,,,Just throat punch next time
I lime in the early early spring/late late winter only because thats when I do but I fert & seed at the same time..like was said before whenever is a good time to lime
I spread lime the first part of July and then seed and fertilize at the same time before a rain.
Lime in the fall, fertilizer in the early spring, if you’re looking for best practice. Anything is better than nothing.
