What was your car in high school?

The discussions in the Senior Class Pics thread gave me the idea that we needed new one to talk about:

71 Plymouth Duster; 340ci, full cam, solid lifters, headers, 456 positive traction rear end - 4 speed; Cragar mags.

Yes it was the fastest around, while it lasted.

Of course, I blew up the engine. Dips#*t!

But it was cool! :dancin:

74 Mercury Cougar and then a 74 F250 highboy with a 390, never owned another car since.
Most of the time it was a 1963 1/2 ton Chevy pick up but when I was a good little boy my dad let me drive his 1967 Pontiac GTO with a 400 cubic inch with a quadrajet carb and a slapstick 1-2-3 auto transmission. Dual Walker Glass packs. Man it had a good sound. My dad was cool that way.
1978 16 ft quachita tri-haul w/ a 1982 40 hp merc outboard. Didn't have a need for a vehicle as I worked at a marina and drove the boat to work and fished just about everyday after school.

First vehicle was a 1971 gmc 4x4 3/4 ton truck. Granddad bought it the year I was born and always said it would be mine when I graduated, nothing fancy but a good ol' farm truck.
Had a '78 vette in high school...

Thats a Chevette! lol

So far, you get my vote for coolest car. Even if it was your dad's.
Drove mom and dad's '88 Ford F150 until I turned 18. Then I got a 1991 Ford Ranger. Stick, no power steering, no AC, manual windows, locks, etc. GOOD truck for a teenager! Although, I didn't think so THEN!
Mine was a '68 Camaro SS 350 engine. Every once in a while I'd try it out. Had to sell it while in college.
I had a 71 Ford XLT, 2 wheel drive, with a 360, and automatic tranny, topped out at about 85 mph....factory air, and the toolbox down along the bedside, in front of the rear tire.....beer hidin place!!!

And no doubt in my mind....a 67 GTO wins!!!!!
