What type of caterpillar is this?

    Tomato worms don't have the fine hairs on them do they?

    I'm thinking something else.

    Catalpa worm, aka fish bait! Is that leaf next to it from a Catalpa tree? :popcorn:

    nope, cottonwood tree leaf, did not pay much attention at the time

    I dont recall the catalpas having that yellow. Tomato hornworms have yellow and white stripes across the body, iirc. No idea on that beastie.

    I looked around in Google images, and on the Univ. of Mo Extension site, and I've concluded that I still have no idea what that is. :D

    They have yellow, just not that pattern(a stripe on the sides). Plus they are black across the top.

    It could be a magic caterpillar if you put it on a hook and turn it into a fish. Other than that I got nothin.
