HSUS Pushes for Animal Rightist in the White House

12/23/09

The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS), the largest anti-hunting group in the country, is urging its followers sign a petition urging President Obama to appoint an “Animal Protection Liaison†in the White House. This liaison would undoubtedly be promoting HSUS’s radical animal rights agenda.

The appeal comes directly from HSUS President and CEO, Wayne Pacelle. In it, he states,

“We have developed a change agenda for animals, which outlines 100 immediate steps the Obama Administration can take to help animals -- including millions of pets, farm animals, laboratory animals, and wildlife. With your help, we can ensure the Administration is addressing these critical animal protection issues in an ongoing and sustained way.â€

Never before has there been a specific member of the White House staff devoted exclusively to the animal rights issues. Given the current political climate, the amount of influence this appointee might have on public policy raises serious concerns.

“As if having ‘Regulatory Czar’ Cass Sunstein in the Obama Administration isn’t enough, now sportsmen may be confronted with a dedicated animal rightist down the hall from the President, whispering in his ear,â€

I'm sure they probably get a lot of people that way.

It is worrisome when you hear of stuff like this but, I don't think it will gain any traction. I don't think the # of anti's has the # of pro's at a disadvantage. It just seems bad because the ones that are against something are usually louder. Still makes me mad, these people are usually the ones that infringe on our civil liberties more than anyone else. I agree with the HSUS that there is a problem with animal abuse, neglected pets and such, but an attack directly on our hunting rights I feel they are in for a battle they won't like.:02:

hows it look now? :2thumbsup:

Everytime we get a "gift" tshirt or whatever in the mail it makes me feel a little better since I know that it had to cost them something to make/send that out. So there we are, waisting away the money we gave them a few cents at a time.:hysterical:
