I would say I am primarily a deer hunter and love big bucks, but as far as ducks go there sure are some handsome ducks. what is your favorite and why?

Mallard. If it weren't for the mallard duck hunting would probably not be what it is today.

Where I grew up, the only ducks we ever saw were Wood Ducks. It wasn't until I was in College that I ever shot anything else, so I guess I'm partial to them for that reason and also because I think they are the most beautiful.

technically, a coot is not a duck. But, it would seem to be a good fit for you......:rof2::rof2::rof2::rof2::rof2:

That's what I hear....I don't hunt the right places to see cans....maybe someday. I hear they taste so good because of what their main food source is thru the summer...some kind of plant...help me out here....wild celery (not really a celery but that's the common name)

Yep, that is what they say.

I took these two down in the boot heel.... But, I have also killed em at Thomas Hill and Mark Twain, as well as the Mo river.

Greenwing Teal. Beautiful birds and a ton of fun to shoot, nothing like a flock of about thirty coming behind your back and it feels like the wind off of their wings is gonna knock your hat off!

i prefer the 3 curls at least. think we should have laws implemented where a mallet must have 3 curles to even be thought of as shooting at. i also believe children should have to be 12 before they can get in a blind and have to have a driver's license before they can actually hunt. at 12 we can use them for child labor but no hunting and killing our 3 curl ducks until they are 16 at a minimum. now my favorite duck is the pintail and i don't think a person should be allowed to kill them unless that is at least a 5'' sprig and the person doing the killing is married.:hysterical:

Might call it species of duck but I've never been accused of being as intelligent as the next guy. :D

I dont hunt ducks we spent a lot of time watchin in college for a couple classes I had.

Might be a copout but I always liked woodduck coloration..
Always thought a hooded merganser was cool looking too.
