Mike, the only thing I know that you could have done different was your setup. You got him in shooting range:eek: but couldn't get the shot. Most likely he left when he saw no hen. Now that you know the spot you can set up this year where you can see to get that shot.

I agree w/ Jack.. being that you spooked a hen, mu guess is that the thumper knew she was around.. thought you were her.. when he didnt see his sweetheart, he bowed out of the dance.

Ive had that a happen a few times, they come in, not get spooked, but also not see what he wanted to see and left silently as he came in... Those times when it hasnt worked out perfectly, its always been in my set up.. usually runnin and gunnin, not taking my time to check the surroundings and get my deke set out propertly..

right on man :cheers: Yeah i hate the bulk of em too, sometimes they dont even wanna see them dekes, othertimes had em hang up and not come in cuz they didnt see what they wanted to see..

the 2 that i have roll up real tight and arent too bulky, but you sure still know their there.. lemme know how that silo deke works, might hav to give that a whirl too

He might have seen what he wanted,,,,and she could have been walking the other direction. If he was gobblin that much its very possible he called up a hen. It sounds like CP got the best of one of em in the end any way.
