I shot at and missed a bobcat tonight with my muzzleloader. Sure wish I would have gotten it, but you win some, you lose some. :whinging:

Question: Should I set a trap here or did I scare him out of the country and he'll never visit that place again?

x2

Long story short, we had one that was missed on consecutive nights out of the same stand, on the third night they finally got him down :rof2:

I tried that. Didn't work for me near as good as it did for you. But rest assured, I'll shoot at him again IF the opportunity presents itself. I've got 2 traps our right now and after tomorrow, I'll have 6 more for a total of 8. Between that and my muzzleloader, surely I'll be able to get at least one. Or at the very least, have a GREAT time trying. :hysterical:

Thanks copeman. I'll be heading out here in about 2 hours to set some traps in this kitty's neighborhood. Hopefully before the season is out I'll be showing some awesome catch pics.

That muzelloader will tear it up.

Agreed not ideal caliber for sure. brother in law shot one with a 7 mag, jouvenile, ripped one shoulder almost completely off. got it mounted laying on a tree branch, still looked pretty good.

Well if I would have had a .223 or something of that nature, that's what I would have shot it with. Since I had the muzzleloader, I shot at it with the muzzleloader. My buddy shot one with his 30-06 last year with a 180 gr. bullet. Danged near blew it in half and our taxi was able to sew it back together so well that you can't see it at all. I'm not too worried about that to be real honest, that's what I pay the taxi for.

To make it very clear though, I sure did think about that before I shot. I just thought since I haven't seen one before, I'd go ahead and take the chance. Thanks for the advice and I was just :stirpot: a little. :scared:
