I hear ya Brother. This fall I took a good look at the ash (ash are a substantial percentage of the hardwoods) on our farm. I sure must have been sleeping the past few years because there are very few (if any) ash still alive. The Emerald AshBore does some serious devastation in a hurry. The good news. The wood peckers are gonna be extra fat and sassy for the next few years. Woodpeckers are already thick around us. We don't take dead trees down unless they pose a hazard. My guess is the Hackberry will also be a winner.
