I want to go to Alabama for deer this year after christmas but I'm having trouble sorting out the lodges . Any recommendations ? Got to keep it about 1500 for the lodge. Any help appreciated. This will be my first trip and I don't want to get get taken by an unscrupulous outfitter.

The best time to hunt is the last couple weeks of Jan.Thats when you see most of the chasing going on in the green fields.

Try to go in the middle of January! The rut will be in full swing! Tell Pia or Jake that Chip Ledbetter told you to call! I guide turkeys at water valley and they have some fine property with plenty of deer! You can kill one buck per day and a couple of does and all the hogs your truck can haul! Have fun.
