Most bucks should be out by Sept. 15th...


I didn't hear of many, if any velvet bucks (that didn't have any genetic defects) that were taken last year early in the season.

It definatly could happen though!

I have seen em in velvet the opening week-end of gun season---but that is for sure NOT the norm------

last year on opening day,i think i seen around twenty bucks and about half were still in velvet.so you got a shot at it.:D

Man...that would be awesome to get a full velvet buck!!!! Thanks for the replies guys!

Anybody know the proper after kill care for a velvet buck? How quick do you have to get it to a taxidermist?

'yote will know the answers to all of that. I'd get it in the freezer pretty darn quick.
