UPDATE WITH HUNT INFO-Pastor and I going goose hunting in the morning.

Pastor and I are going to go goose hunting in the morning. I cant waight for our excursion to teh dark side of the moon. It will be the first time I get to hunt with Pastor.

Hopefully the ducks and geese fly thick as skitters for his debut duck and goose hunt.

We arnt bringging any decoys since we are going to be sitting in the wild grass trying to look inconspicuouse. I refer to it as hunting Longbow26 style. Hopefully that style produces some birds this trip. So fare I have been skunked.

The added benafit to hunting with a preacher is if the birds are not flying I can get a free surmen. Thouhg I am confident we will have plenty to talk about with out Pastor having to talk shop. UNless he feals the nead to do so. No complaints here if he does.

Wife is letting me take the digi camera along since no call for rain.

We not hunting all day since he ahs to go to work and I got to be home by 10am to meet the freind of mine i hierd to bid on fixing the door the burgler broke enterring out house. But hopefully we are limited out well befor then and already on our way ladden down with GODs bounty of the sky.

Well we shot at 20 gesse and 3 ducks that flew over us in the moring around 7 30am. I shot 3 shots at the ducks no hits and Pastor shot 2 times at the geese no hits.

At 8 30am whiel we was standing at the waters edge a duck flew past Pastor cut lose on it. After 3 shells from pastor and 1 from me it came back around for another baradge. I shot 2 more times at it and pastor 3 more times and after the last shot of his it cuped its wings and lost altatude fast.

We walked towerds the iced creek it went down at and as I was walking acorss the ice to get to the creek proper the ice gave way. So my non water proff bots got wet. I figer mis as well continue on and by the time i saw the duck runing acorss the ice towerds the lake i was well past my knees in ice water. Just as i thouhgt no cence in shoting the duck where he is the water being deeper then my knees he took to flight and flew off giving me a few departing queacks.

My gun for some reason was cycling afully slow. Not know if it was the cold weather or a internal ishue.

I had fun I hope Pastor did.

The geese and 3 ducks were 40 feet high. The solo duck was 15 feet off the water for first shot. 40 to 50 high.

Depending on how i am fealing at 3am in the morning im going to go out there again. I got my gun fixed, least its cycling properly rt now. I got the zipper on my coat fixed. Only my boots are still sooping wet even thouhg i put news paper in them once i got home, three times now put news papper in them; they still wet.

Even thouhg my ankels not fealling like they have neadels being driven in them any longer. My whole boddy still feals like i am sitting on a ice cycle.

If I do go out i am going to be taking my waders with me. Got no choice unless the boots are completly dry by 3 30am whihc is departure time.
But with the waders if i deside to go to the creek again and bust out the ice wide i can jsut waight and see if any ducks or geese want to land in the only patch of water in the morning.

I would not trade todays hunt for anything my freind. Thank you for bearring it out in the cold. I really thouhgt we drew a inside straight when the 3 ducks and 20 geese came over the tree line and bee lind towerd us. Every mussle in my body was quiverring wiht exitment of the inpending action. My mouth went dry but soem how threw all of it my nose was still running.

Just let me know as sone as posible when again, so i can arange a baby sitter for the boys. Ryans last day of school is this coming Friday and he is out of school untill Jan 5th.

Plus with deer season arriving again I got to find time and place to fill my remaning tags.

Well going to take my pain meds and hipe-de hope into bed. Well my iner self will be hipe-de hoping. My old body will simple be walking.

Serioully? or joking? I ask ebcuase it woudl take a lot of rice to fill my boots. Wife woudl kill me if it was for no perpose other tehn a joke. Althouhg it would be humorouse.
