Met up with @NoLuck today. He gave me the fly of the day. We caught some troots. I caught 7 or 8, but NoLuck caught at least 3 to every 1 that I brought to hand. You do the math. He flat put a whoopin on the fish. Great to meet you NoLuck, enjoyed the day!
Wrap the hook down to just around the curve of the hook. Taper the body from the bead back to the curve of the hook. Coat lightly with Sally Hansen’s Hard as nails clear finger nail polish. Thin it down a little if needed to penetrate the thread. But you want it thick enough to build a skin appearance over the thread.
If you need tungsten beads, I buy them off eBay in 100 packs. They’re usually in the 13-15$ range for 100. The hooks don’t usually show up on there much. They might be a little tough to find but well worth looking for. I used multiple other hooks before finding them. When I started using 2499’s my hook up rate increased dramatically.
