TV duck/goose shows

Disclaimer" I have not hunted ducks or geese in 20 years, but that was all I did growing up.

I have been watching a few different waterfowl shows lately. One that I was watching this morning, the sun was hitting the hunters from the front and the guys did not have their faces covered and 2 did not even have hats. And they wondered why the birds were flairing. Plus when calling, there white hand that was holding the call were flopping all over the place. They should have been jumping up and down waving, "look at me I'm here in the bushes".

I rarily see any of these TV "shooters"cover there faces or hands but I do see them take some long shots. Back in the day, we always covered our faces, or had one guy call and one guy watching the birds.

Kind of like out at Busch Wildlife Friday evening, a guy sat in some weeds at edge of a field facing the sun wearing a ghillie suit with out his face being covered. All you could see was his face shinning like a spotlight.

If they can kill the tall ones they sell a lot more ammo. Only face cover i wear is my beard but then again I don't have a camera pointed at me broadcasting my duck God appearance to the world lol.

It’s a lot less about covering your face and a lot more about being hidden. I’ve never covered my face for deer, turkeys, ducks, coyotes, etc. I do stay still, and I do stay hidden.

This, except for turkeys outside of a blind

I just started bowhunting from a blind fairly recently, within the last 10 years or so. Before that we slayed piles of gobblers, and never once covered our face. To each their own, I just never saw the need.
