Turned down antler

Just curious if this is a one time fluke with his antler turned down, or will this happen every year?
Not sure I want him to pass on any genes.

I wouldn't want that genetic passed on, but I would guess it's not genetics.

Definitely not genetic - he had damage to the pedicle EARLY in the antler growth process.

Well, we will definitely pass on him this year, and see what he looks like next year. Side note, we are starting to see a lot more bucks in the game camera pics. Showing up during daylight hrs instead of only after dark.
Friend killed a buck like that. His skull plate was actually broke between the antlers. Unreal how he survived whatever he hit hard enough to break his skull.

He probably got hurt on his left side so now his opposite antler grows crazy! If he heals up his rack will b fine next year! Maybe!!!

Killed this one a couple years ago. Looks like it was a permanent deformity.

A guy from Stewartsville shot a huge 8. The rack grew with a wide spread at the end of the points. ( leaned out)

this buck had cracked a huge chunk of skull out and one beam was sticking straight out to the side. Under the original skull plate was a newly grown skull plate replacement.

The buck had a 33” spread if I remember correctly. They are tough!

Well, we will see what we see next year. Looks like some of these are reoccurring every year, but are still not really genetic.
