I was walking in a field next to some woods on some property I own and scared a hen turkey off her nest of 10 eggs. Isn't it awful late for them to be on the nest?

She may have lost her first clutch. I read somewhere that once a hen is bred, she can lay a second clutch of fertilized eggs without having to breed again.

Hope this group works out for her.

I was talking to the guy that farms my ground the other night, he said him & the neighbor watched a hen escort several chicks the size of this one across the road, one by one last week. I was seeing gobblers strutting still well into June.

I got this pic 4 days ago.
