Yes. It is allowed, but I think they have to be leashed while tracking.

Yes. There is a guy I know who's lab is top notch at it. I have another friend who used to have a blue heeler that was pretty good. I am assuming your talking about tracking wounded deer,,if not using dogs for tracking deer wouldn't be legal.

 My buddy has a basset (I think that's how you spell it) that is AWESOME at it!

I've got a lab that is going to be awesome at it too! :stirpot: She is only 7 weeks old though, so we've got a little more training to do. :D

Where is the possibly dead deer located - county or general location? A friend of mine has a dog he has trained for tracking mortally wounded deer.

Where do you think you hit it, and what kind of projectile? Also, how long ago did you hit it, and how long have you looked, distance followed blood trail and how many people tromping around looking for it?

Adrenaline seeker,

I thought this sounded familiar...

HOWDY MAN!!!

I took my dog up there the Wensday after the hunt...

Did the doe you shot go the same way as the buck did???

My dog found a gut pile in the general area that your dad said the last blood from the buck was.

That and a summer kill doe is all she found.

Oh yeah, she found a dead **** as well.

Yup. I know of three deer this year that were shot and killed with them. All died within 150 yards, but almost ZERO blood trail.

Its about the smallest caliber you can get away with. We have one thats killed probably 15 deer though. Been used by a lot of my family.
