Looks like I have an opportunity to trade for a post 64( I think) 94. I only have one top eject now and it is about to be retired.Guy wants a 380 auto pistol I haven't used in 2 or 3 years. I'll most likely get rid of another angle eject if this trade actually occurs.

What year class after '64? Those mid to late 60's and through the 1970's rifles had enough problems I wouldn't want to fool with them too much. Quality picked up in the mid 80's again. But plum colored recievers and broken parts are not strangers to the years right after the big change over.

The years immediately after the change over were rough for the M94. Winchester tried a painted finish on receivers that took a really ratty look and/or they had some plum colored recievers too. Stamped small parts were prone to breakage. Actions were rough. I had several of the real early 70's guns and they were trash. I have a 1948 M94 .30 WCF and compared to it the quality didn't come back until the late 80's. Even then it wasn't like the old guns, but it was pretty darned good and miles ahead of the late 60's through the 70's era.
