We all experience our target tips becoming loose and we constantly are tightening them back in place while practicing. Sometimes we forget to check between shots and you hear that tell tale rattle as the arrow heads toward the target.

I discovered a little trick to keep your tips and your hunting tips for that matter tight on your arrow shaft. No more rattling and no more of your tips backing out from the vibration of shooting them at the practice range. A simple bees wax coating on the threads of the target tip or hunting tip and it will not back out any more but still be easily removed with your fingers if need be. Some of you may have already been aware of this simple remedy but for those of you that haven't give it a try and I'm sure you will be happy with the outcome.

Even a bit of wax on the neck of your nock prior to insertion helps to keep those in also.

Do you wax your bowstring? Any wax will do the trick, even candle wax.

Sorry bean......I figured that most archers be it traditional or compound shooters already had wax for your bow string. Its always a good idea to keep your bow string waxed.

So there is one more hint to all archers.....wax your bow string.

any wax will work. go to the grocery store and get some regular old paraffin. might have to nuke it for about 5-10 seconds to get it soft enough but the field tips won't come out until you want them to

Just sharing what I've learned over the years Sir.

I'll go to my room at the old folks home now and let you younger folks learn this stuff on your own.

I'll add to this MM...it's also a good idea to wax the threads on all the screws on your bow sights etc. It prevents them from coming loose over time and causing an equipment issue.

Just ask BHKS about his sight housing set screw backing out:wave:

And Ignore 55...he's still cranky about being caution tapped !
