Tip of the day, Thermacell
Yep, it's that time of year, want to get out and get that big old boy before the next guy does, but the bugs will be out to get you.
Stock up on butane refills and wicks/pads.
Then play the wind, or get the Ozonic or Ionic machine out to kill the Thermacell smell, which may then draw the bugs to you...tell us how that goes...
and do not forget the deep woods off to kill off the ticks and chiggers, do not want anybody to get Rocky Mountain Fever or be itching so much ya drive the wife crazy...
oh, hunt the shady side of the field in the evenings, deer do not want to feed standing with the sun beating on them in 90 degree temps, they would rather feed in the shade...same as you

i picked one up but havent used it yet. glad to hear they work
They work great, even on the 1lb.river skeeters
They work great in still conditions or even very light wind. If there is much wind they won’t help. In a blind they work awesome.

make sure you put it up wind of you, had a guy said it did not work, he had it down wind....

I heard some guys put a thermacell without the pad in their heater body suits and it puts off heat like a handwarmer.
A few years ago some one was marketing a doe in heat scent pad to put in one.
Now there are several versions of heated and non-heated scent dispensors with fans and timers and and and, no wonder there are no deer left
