As we are coming to the end of the 2009 deer seasons, it is time to quit lounging around in the deer stand and get back to work! Well, take a little time to relax, but now is a great time to look back on 2009 and decide if you want to change anything about your farm. Not universally true, but most of us will forget by April what we saw (or did not see) during our deer hunts. So take a few minutes this winter to write down your goals for 2010. If you take a trip to the farm to do some post season scouting, stand moving, etc., take a little time to see what wildlife food is available, what kind of winter cover you have available, etc. Now is also a great time to visit with your MDC Private Land Conservationist. Winter is a good time to work on planning for the upcoming growing season.

Have a great Christmas and then hit the new year head on!

Thanks for reminding us and you are correct. I can't tell you have many times I've thought " I should do x this year" only to forget by May.

Have a great Christmas yourself!
