Hopefully you practice hunting enough to get a chance at a shot at a deer this year. I would be your biggest cheerleader if you killed one!

Ya passing a chance at shooting a doe from the ground with a homemade bow will get zero sympathy from me
I didn't post this video just for my benefit. Clay knows his stuff and even the average bow hunter could benefit watching his tips to hunting videos. The past two bow seasons I just wasn't in the right place in my life to spend much time in the deer woods. I'm still nursing my wife through her second bout with cancer. That keeps me close to home in case she needs me. As of today she is close to 80% healed from the cancer and the chemo and radiation treatments. Then there is my past heart attack I can't do as much as I've done in the past pertaining to prepping for deer season. My plans are to be in the deer woods more this year so unless somethings unpreventable happen I plan on putting meat in the freezer and not just holding out for bone on the head...but that would be a plus if some nearsighted deaf 2 year old buck wanders to within my bow range this year.

You tell em Mailman! With that clover you planted on your dozer line I bet killing a deer will be a slam dunk with your homemade bow in hand.

"Always"....?..I post one thread trying to help my fellow MWT members that shoot crossbows and that is wrong in your opinion? I'm just looking ahead to when I can no longer draw my compound or trad bow. A crossbow is in my future I'm sure if I live that long.

About ten years ago I shot every night after work for about 9-12 shots. Exactly how he described. Come home from work grab bow and shoot a broadhead at 50 yards. Retrieve that one shot and shoot it again. Did that for 3-6 shots at 50. Then 3 at 40 and 3 at 30. One arrow only. No groups of multiple arrows.

Awesome confidence buiilder and a "practice how you are gonna play" kind of deal when all of your shots hit a 4" piece of paper at 50. All arrows shot more like real hunting, ya only get 1 so 1st shot at 50 is all that counts.
