Flooded timber hunting this morning down here in NE AR. Good morning. 5 of us killed 15 mallards. One of those days, and I know everyone says this, but we should have easily had our limit. Not a great display of shooting to say the least. We had one group in our face that no one shot at. Another group that no one hit. I don't know how many groups we worked but we had probably 6 groups that we got shots on. Biggest group we worked into the hole was about 20 birds.

If you come to NE Ar for a timber hunt beware of the debris. I fell this morning and got my right arm wet. It is also really hard to track down ducks right now. You simply can't get to them if they are still swimming and you can't get a second shot at them.
The ice storm made a big mess of the woods.

All of the rabbits.....just kidding.

They rest in there and loaf around eating acorns. They go out to the rice fields and eat. That is what I think attracts them there. Might be a more scientific answer out there that someone could give.

We are talking about a huge section of flooded timber here. Close to 30K acres which should also answer Blev's question...he used to be a local.

We've got one....they don't do much good in the debris we are trying to hunt in. They get hung up to much.

Really? I'm sure we'll be eating breakfast or lunch at The Hunt & Harvest Cafe several times.

I've got family all over down there.

We only go to the H and H if we shoot a limit. Decent place to get a cheeseburger though. Maybe we will run into you sometime.
