Hunting in high winds is not worth it. I had a buddy a few years ago almost get crushed by a tree and there was a guy on here who was crushed while riding his atv in the woods. From now on I don’t even go in the woods on a windy day.
I use to curse the wind quite a bit and it can’t most definitely wear on ya.... but... wind does help you cover up a lot things.. Crunch Crunch of frozen/dry leaves.. your movement .... etc
Pretty strong gusts here. Steady 15-20 with 30 plus gust thrown in. I’m on The leeward side of An east to west running ridge with food plots on both ends and bedding in the middle. Hope to catch one freshening up scrapes after the rain all day yesterday and last night.

SImon and I were sitting a couple weeks ago and it was NOT windy and holy smokes on the ridge it sounded like half the forest came down, glad we were not up there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ended up seeing 5. Had to get down cause the phone company was coming to upgrade the line into my place. It was getting chilly anyways. Passed this 7 a couple of weeks ago.
Maybe its just in my mind, but I just dont think deer can trust their sense of smell when its really windy so they are laid down all day. Course anything can happen approaching/during the rut.
