I just started bowhunting this year and like I've said before this kind of hunting is different. Got some good woods time in this weekend and I think I've leArned more this weekend about deer than I have in all the years Ihave been hunting. Still havent been able to get shot but i've had them up close. Bowhunting is much more difficult than I thought it was. I am hoping to get a bow kill before the end of season though

Yes it is---but it can also be very rewarding big time. Stay with it----it will pay off for you in the long run-----

I am pretty hooked regardless. I had a group of seven does walk on both sides of saturday. I got busted because i wasnt paying attention where they all were. I went to draw back and got caught moving then they were gone. Still pretty cool considering I could the nose hairs and eye lashes on one of them. With a rifle I never put myself someplace where they would get that close. Live and learn I guess. It is alot of fun because the woods seem alot different out of rifle season

Stick with it and when it all comes together it is awesome. You may find on any future firearms hunts that you won't be shooting over 100yds. Well at least that's how it has been for me. Tend to hunt the same with a gun as I do with a bow which means they are up close and personal

Bow hunting will make a better rifle hunter of you as well..... So, you have that going for you as well.....:D

I don't get to bow hunt anywhere near as much as i'd like.... So, I have to be happy with the occasional deer with a bow.... But, it is very enjoyable, and the last thing a person should judge their bow hunting success on, is if they actually take a deer.... If that were the case, there would be a lot of "unsuccessful" hunts....

And, pretty much all my bow hunts are successful:2thumbsup:, even though I rarely take a deer with one.....

This is my first year bowhunting as well. And boy am I hooked. I killed my biggest buck ever and he was 20 yards from me. Where I hunt at you have to kill a doe before you can kill a buck. The first time I shot at a doe I hit her but it wasnt a good shot, ran down the hill where my buddy was hunting and he killed her. 2nd time I shot at a doe. I missed and was real upset with myself. Less than a half hour I killed a doe. I wasnt going to miss twice in the same day. When I shot my buck in my avatar this year. I didnt hit him where I was aiming,(behind the shoulder) I did manage to hit him in the neck and he dropped right there. Man was I lucky. Bow hunting is sooo much harder, you can just point and click like a gun. But I love it and my wife hates it. She's gotten over since oct though. anyways good luck and stay at it. It pays off
