This morning I set up on a Ridge about 6:45 hear a Snort to my right,Nice Heavy beamed 10,I BAAAA at him he stops 30 yards I put the Pin High to the Front, shoot Thump!

He runs I'm thinking go ahead see if you can find Blood, took awhile but found Good Blood hitting couple foot up,Big Blotches on the ground every so often.

Trailed him to the edge of the Ridge.I get to the edge looking for him,I hear him jump up at the bottom of the holler and run about 50 yards and stop.

I decided to back out until after Dinner.Ok I have never trailed a Deer any distance and found it.This Deer has run a Good 600 yards. But I'm thinking where he ran Down Hill and seems to want to stay down there he may Lay up not far from where i last seen him.

    Thoughts?

I think it's a good idea to wait until after dinner. Maybe he ran 600 yard because you were pushing him?

Yea I was thinking that too because he would have been Down Wind of me when I was looking for Blood.I'm thinking Body Size too takes longer for the Arrow to do its Job.

Focus on something else for a few hours then go retrieve your deer:cheers:
He shouldn't be too far from where ya saw him last.

I agree with giving him time to expire.... If you had a good blood trail he will be done soon. Congrats on the stick

I bet you wont do that again! It only took me one long packing job because I was impatient to fix me. Nothin worse than trackin' and packin' when you dont really have to. I'm sure you will find him though, can't wait to see pics.

sounds like you pushed him. i would have backed out right away and then waited til dinner to go look for him. might not be as far as he is now. good luck :pop::pop:
