There are receptive hens year round?always are
Always are this time of year, not year round. Failed nests etc. Ive seen several quail sized poults in late august. I can remember grandpa coming in in early October with 2 barely bigger than a pheasantThere are receptive hens year round?
i AGREE THAT JENNY,S GET IT AS THEY MATURE. We have floodwater way up stream again. i HAVE OFTEN SEEN TOMS WORKING WELL INTO JULY IN WET YEARS.My theory is that many of the late breeders are also jennies from the year prior. I dont know of any biological proof, but it's just an idea.
I've heard them gobbling in November.I heard them gobbling during deer gun season
saw*I seen a tom strutting with 4 hens Friday evening.
How the hell do you know ? You weren't there.saw*
