The Winchester model 70 rebuild is finished

    FINALLY! This project has been TOO LONG in coming to completion!! It was started a couple years ago and got put on hold when my life came crashing down around me. It's become somewhat of a symbolic project in that the rifle has been given a new start...as have I.

    It's a 7mm Rem Mag.

    Cheapy Barska 3-9x50 scope...but it serves my purpose...for now.

    mcb, that's actually a factory stock that I stripped, sanded and refinished.

    Some real character on that wood. Beautiful!
    Son #2 has that gun in plastic. Wish I had the talent to make a similar stock for it.:cheers:

    never thought it could look that good.. My 70 in that old stock made many a fine shot .. hopefully the same magic will go to you!

    BP, I was truly surprised at how it turned out, too. That maple finish just wasn't floatin my boat. Had to do away with it. But you'd have to fight me for it now! Lots of hours went into refinishing that sucker!
