The DMZ is 30 miles from Seoul. The ROK's and we don't have the manpower or tanks to stop them. It'll have to be air, missiles, and maybe then some. I don't think Kim Jung Ill-in-the-brain knows just how close he is to having the "rain of death" descend upon him.
Now that might be all conventional, but he'll still be just as dead.

Lil Kim doesnt have the sack to put one over the DMZ. He knows that if he did, the last 2 light on in NK will be put out within 30 minutes.

Do you really think our Commander in Chief would respond with like if an errant Nuke went off over the South? I'm sure that he could find a way to try to pass it off as some hot headed little general or someone who had their Cheerios Wizzed in.

We need to make a stand and let it be known that we don't just rattle sabres to get attention. Walk softly, but carry a big stick. That means use it when need be.

As far as China interfereing? I say if they want to say anything we default on their notes and stop the import of their junk. They'd become a third world country overnight.

They have been testing these missiles and nuks for 15 years now. They have averaged over 3 tests a year for that many years. If everyone would think back a few years they test fired missiles and tested nuks while Bush and Chenney were preparing for a war on Iraq. Another words we invaded a country on suspision of wmd's while a country with confirmed nuks was firing them off and threatening the world. I don't believe it even drew a response from Bush or Chenney.

When you cut thru all the political nonsense it comes down to how China chooses to react to their actions. If China doesn't cut off military aid to them,,,we wouldn't have much chance of defeating them in a conventional war. You might recall,,we have already been down that road. Unless they actually fire an armed missile at someone nuking them would be a foolish thing to do,,since it would bring China into the fray,,and whether you like it or not, we can't whip China. They out number us by more than 2 to one and we have footed the bill to industialize them to a point they can out produce us for military supplies. We have been dealing with Koreas insolence for 46 years now,,,and not one US president has taken a firm stand beyond sanctions and or embargos. Korea is to China what Isreal is to the US. Its their obnoxious step child that they feel compelled to support,,but can't quite control. (On a side note,,,we or south korea don't even have a peace treaty with north korea.we are operating under a 46 year old cease fire. The original declared war techically isn't over after all these years) There are a reported 28000 american troops in sk and another 60000 in other areas of the region. If north korea points thier soldiers south and tells them there is a sandwhich on the other side of seol,,,we would be in trouble.

I'm not a liberal,,I'm non denomenational. I see alot of things you post that shows you need alot of enlightening. But I'm pretty sure facts or common sense would be like water off of a ducks back with you. But then you are probably one of the far right fools who thinks anyone who doesn't agree 100% with you is a liberal. Its folks with your attidtude that prevents politics from being possible on the open forum.

This is a couple of years old, if that, but it explains a lot about the China/Nork dilemma. China would love to crack down on Kim, but they have other things to worry about, too.

This will take awhile to read, (especially if you move your lips while doing the reading:D), but it's worth it if you want to understand what's going on.

There's more, of course, but this is the best guide I've found so far, and my thanks to Utah Lefty, on another forum, for posting this stuff and more like it. He's a fountain of interesting knowledge.
