When I hunt places, it's tough for me to get to know the lay of the land. Today I discovered that I can get the satellite view on Google maps! I've been getting a view I've never seen before of all the places I hunt. Just type in a place and away you go! It's almost like scouting with a helicopter.

You need to download googleearth, if you haven't checked it out already. You have to have high speed internet to access it, but it is awesome. You can download the free version at googleearth.com If you click on roads you can follow roads right to any spot in the world. It is one awesome tool!

Thanks for the info, Big Red! I live in the City of Boonville, but I see just a ton of deer. Now I know why. Using the overhead view and the area measuring function of the website you suggested, I now realize my house sits on the edge of a 300 plus acre woods. No wonder why there are so many deer.
