A buddy of mine just sent me a picture of a spike buck that has a yellow tag in its left ear. He said he thought it might be a crazy neighbor who got it or something and tagged it. Your thoughts?

Conservation was going to tag some a few years back. I know cause I worked at MFA and they called me for a bid on a whole bunch of eartags with custom numbers

No chance it was a deer farm and this picture was taken around the Columbia area.

I've heard of a few guys around here that will carry tags and a tag applicator with them on the tractor when they're cutting hay. If they find a fawn, they'll hop off and slap a tag in it's ear just to be able to identify it as the fawn they found later on. Could be what happened to that little guy.

They need to have "preserve" stamped on the screen during those high fenced hunts cause I always like flipping the channel once I find that out.

I removed the tag probably as easily as it could have been placed there.:stirpot::D
