Strapless trail cam

I remember a lot of folks was interested in the DIY trail cam mounts, but a lot of those people wanted to use them on public land, or lived in areas where it was not allowed to put screws in trees. This includes a variation for those people and some demonstrations as to why a mount is better than straps.

The hawk trailcamera speed mount is money. Got three more, works great.
I’m going to make a few of those.

Same concept. Except these you can build 5 for the price of buying 1 from the store. When you run multiple cams, it helps a lot
These look great. Going to build a couple.

So, when you used the piece of wood you suddenly found a longer strap? Congrats.
I never put a camera on a sapling anyway because of false triggers in the wind.
Thanks for all the outdoor knowledge dude. I never knew that a thread entitled strapless trail cam mounts actually used a strap.

It was obviously a different tree and location lulz. So at least get your information right if your going to try and criticize me.

The MOUNT allows "strapless" use, or for those who cant screw into trees, that wanted to use the mount, can still use the mount with a strap. I think I explained all that and demonstrated. The idea is to have the freedom of movement that straps restrict. Sorry it didn't please you, but a lot of people find it useful and appreciate the idea. And again, the sapling is just showing its versatility. But I have used saplings in new growth areas. You don't get as many false triggers as youd think. If youd rather, take stake or some kind of weighted post and substitute it for a sapling. Its a great place for new growth areas where there is no larger trees and only saplings are available

Right on, got it.
