Here's some entertainment for a while. Be sure to click on the bellars video. It's tyeh captive deer ranch here in Indiana that went to trial this year for all kinds of illegal activities.
It will just about make you sick !
I do kinda like this quote though........
Glad to see Jimmy huston and all his big white teeth grinnin ear to ear watchin that buck bounce off of the fence.
what a tool.....
I was wonderin how that was pannin out on that deal....be rough if they had to do things the hard way I guess!!!
ugh....makes me sick seeing that....
Me too... gosh, all kinds of people out there. Dont think I could sleep at night being involved with that kind of crap.
:bangin: hthrly, I may have to concede on this one! :bangin:

Oh yeah I had forgotten about our discussion about this one !
But then such is life. Ever now and then somethin happins that makes you re-evaluate who your friends REALLY are! :stickfight:
Well it's hard to argue with that video. Thats a different one than I saw.
The whole deal makes me sick.
I had a guy come to my house the other day to look at doing some excavating for me. Turns out he's a taxidermist also and did a lot of mounts for the guys killing deer at Bellars. His house was also raided when they raided Bellars. He said they took every head associated with the place.
Also told me a couple of stories that as he's telling me I'm thinking Ok you've lived and deer hunted in Indiana all your life and you didn't see anything wrong with these guys herding deer with a 4 wheeler to waiting hunters sitting over a bait pile and then finishing the deer off with a .22 pistol ?
I don't feel sorry for any of them.
I hear ya man........I havn't followed the story to any degree. But believe it or not I trust the word of my Hoosier brutha!
I dont in any way condone the practices that went on at that ranch, but I also dont think game ranches should be shut down which is the impression I get from that web page. There's a lot of folks on this board who are planning on doing a hog hunt real soon on a game ranch.
One of their reasons this web page doesnt like game ranches is because of the "dangers" it may present by introducing diseases to the native deer. I wonder if they hold the same feelings towards the individuals who just privately ranch elk for meat and horn production. I also wonder if they feel the same way about private individuals who own whitetail deer and collect the urine from them to sell to us for hunting purposes. If they are so worried about CWD, then why do they only target game ranches and not ALL elk and whitetail owners? Even the name of their website is etlitist in nature. Real-hunters. Either hunt by their code of ethics or you are not a real hunter.
Like I said, I dont condone what happened at that ranch. Hunting deer in a 3-6 acre pen and chasing them with 4 wheelers is pathetic. I also dont think there is anything wrong with stocking deer or elk on hundreds of acres and letting someone "hunt" them. It aint my cup of tea but I dont feel I should try to keep others from doing it or making a living from it. At least it is American money being spent and kept here in America. I'm more concerned about all the jobs that are leaving this country and this website is intent on shutting down the livelihood of fellow Americans.
This isnt a personal attack, just my opinion of that website.
I have no idea what the web page is all about. I was only interested the Bellar stuff mainly because I live less than 5 miles from it.
The Bellar ranch case is much more involved than just hunting penned deer and the risk of CWD.
They used many illegal practices to shoot the deer and a lot of big named people were there to do it. Jimmy Houston is only one who made videos there. Knight and Hale also made video shoots there. Ronnie Brooks from Brooks and Dunn, Dale Jr and other big named people came into to shoot deer there. ( No I'm not saying they all did the things you saw in the video) But it was and still is a huge case for captive deer shooting in Indiana.
Like I said, I dont agree with those ranch practices at all. I also live about 5 miles from a game ranch that is that size or maybe even larger and I know for a fact they dont use those practices. They have deer, elk, bison, hog, goats, sheep, and probably some other things I cant think of. You pay your money and go hunt them by stalking them on foot on hundreds of acres. I personally dont care to do it because the deer and elk are semi-wild at best and some of them are fairly tame. If some rich guy wants to spend 10 grand or whatever to shoot one, it doesnt bother me in the least. At least his money stays here and he didnt spend it on something made somewhere else and it helps employ Americans. That website broad brushes ALL game ranches into the same category and now they are all shutdown in Indianna. Now you have to come to Missouri to hunt hogs at a ranch. I'd be pi$$ed if I lived in Indianna and had to travel to another state to hunt at a decent game ranch.
Actually this is the first and probably the only time I will hunt at a game ranch !
I don't think, but am not 100% sure that the only ranches they shut down were curvid ranches (deer and elk). Actually I don't know if Indiana has any hog ranches, but regardless I understand your point.
And I'm with you in the thought of who cares if someone has the 10 grand to shoot a penned deer.
Filming the hunting videos, shooting them in small pens and while they are drugged is a different story.
Well, for some reason I can't view the videos. I downloaded that Flash player but it still won't work. Oh well.
Mine did that yesterday for a while. I could get the sound but not the video. ???
