Missouri already has all that except a split season (which MDC says we dont need) and lower limit for NR (we would have to increase our resident limit, which would be fine)
SC doesn't charge for turkey tags?
SC doesn't charge for turkey tags?
Most southern states dont. Its included in their general hunting permit.

They also dont allow bearded hens to be shot, so I guess thats not the issue.
I imagine we will see other states making changes too in the future.

Missouri will be one of them....

Do you mean the politics as usual part?

Will the new additional tag fees be "earmarked" for further studies/research... or put in a general fund.....?
Lovely. Pure propaganda. All the changes that were made point to legal hunting being the culprit, which it's not, it"s a non factor.

So much for science based regulations.

As hawk mentioned, just like Missouri
I wonder why they didn't change trapping regulations
I figured they'd liberalize the seasons when the numbers are down?

How?
Last year Kansas reduced the fall limit to 1 turkey and closed unit 4(western Kansas) and kept the spring season the same.

I listen to the KDWP commissioners meetings on-line and they are working with a bunch of states on a study of the turkey decline.

weird, some states are reducing things in response to the challenges with the bird numbers
while , they appear to be proceeding like a headless hog. they are allowing only one tom the first 10 days , and only i tom a day which are on the Hawk do wrong wish list. It smells of political delusion in that the start date is 10 days earlier then recommended to benefit the resource. May be the Great Henry COULD SEND THEM HIS wonderful research so they could actually help the resource if that really is the intent. Or mdc could own the problem and be the model for the nation conservation department again and spread the word that is proved by all of there long term historical evidence. I could cheer for mdc being a hero again. ALL THE PATHETIC DOOM AND GLOOM AND WRONG HEADENESS needs to cease and desist.

They can reduce all they want, it wont help
