Sounds like I need to get my bow out

I've been having trouble getting fired up about bowhunting this year. Focus has been on getting our house remodel finished up.

A good friend of mine came up yesterday & put his butt in one of my favorite stands. He said the big boy that frequented that area last year, made it through & was chasing does around. Time to rethink waiting till Halloween. I just wish he'd have came closer than 60 yds for my buddy. Said he chased a couple does within 20 yds, but he wouldn't come on down. Said he was very vocal chasing the girls around.

I about had this buck figured out last year, just didn't have a stand in the right place. I remedied that a few weeks ago & moved a ladder into his morning travel route. Guess its about go time.

Well dang, like you I am waiting until Halloween. It will probably get to 80 again Halloween until rifle opener..
I wish I was seeing that kind of activity. Nothing chasing that I've seen, didn't make it out this morning - couldn't get fired up to go either.

Good luck with him this year. Thar'd be pretty darn satisfying after he gave you the slip last year.

So far a yearling 6 but there are a couple gobblers gobbling like it was spring, Maybe one of them will show up. Fog so thick can't see 35 yds
I had a good trail cam pic of a good buck chasing a doe through my clover patch on the 11th
All work and no play makes Randy a dull boy.
Due to the fog I missed the opportunity to take a deer I would like to get. A doe and mini came through and the mini still had spots. Couldn't see them till too late, been wanting one for the spotted hide to tan.

I was gonna go this morning but the wind was supposed to be out of the NW at 5am and SW at 7am. Figured the wind would be swirling in my spots from the change in just a few hours. Didn't want to burn a hunt with the wind change at first light.
I had everything set and ready to go this morning. Alarm went off and I said F it and went back to bed. Hard to get fired up yet. Getting sucked on by the river bottom skeeters doesn’t feel like deer season.

This is the buck that was working that spot last fall/winter. I knew he had survived hunting seasons, because I had him on camera after alt season. I'm pretty sure this is the one he seen.

They're firing up on the scrapes around here, all little ones though. Passed a decent ten last week . But im tired of of driving through miles of corn to get to my spot then walk through more corn to get anywhere to hunt , had hopes last week but then all the farmers switched to beans:banghead: I did get in a couple of locked up bucks that drown at the lake last week that were prolly 140 and 150.

I hunted every sit from Thursday till today. Saw a lot of deer, at one time had 26 deer in my big plot. The little ones weren't even chasing. The bigger bucks just stood around and postured at the small ones and ate. A few scrapes, but not many.
