been waiting all day to post this, (had to get a pic with him and the deer, or else feel the wrath of MWT :rof2::rof2::rof2: ) after a weekend of youth rifle hunting and no sightings whatsoever. he wanted to archery hunt this morning. I told him ok but he had to quit at 7:25 to get to the house so the wife could take him to school. at 7:30 I get a phone call saying they are on their way to school and I had to go field dress his deer and drag it out. it was a 15 yard shot, the deer dropped within sight of the blind and he stuck his tag on it and headed to the house. the arrow went in perfect, through both lungs and stuck through the oppiste shoulder.

yea whats funny is the reason he wanted to archery hunt was sunday night a flock of turkeys roosted about 60 yards in front of the blind. I asked him what happened to the turkeys and he said when he shot the button buck it headed right through where they where and they scattered everywhere.
the spot he shot it is what we call "the good spot" :rof2: 2 yrs of hunting there in a homemade blind made of pallets and never seen a deer there . it just looks like a spot made for TV though, a 80 yard square of mature oaks and cattle run through the summer so its open. lots of deer tracks and get lots of pics (even daytime ones) but just never seen a deer while hunting there. well he finaly broke the streak
