Son’s First Turkey

My 7 year old had a dentist appointment in the afternoon so I figured skip school and try hunting that morning. My buddy said a couple of birds were paired up and coming in to the blind every morning. We had a nice Tom fly down and gobble in the field with a hen but he wouldn’t come closer than about 80 yds. Awhile later the two other birds came out gobbling and ran right up to the blind. Trevor said he was a little scared right when the one faned out to strut but he let him have it. He practiced a lot with the Stevens 301 410 9 shot TSS.

He’s hooked now and can’t wait till deer season for his first deer.
