not being able to fill ur firearm anydeer tag with the bow during ML season, but you can during rifle season. this lights a fire under me. as if the other ten terrible season regs didn't already.
someone tell me the actual reasoning behind. .

You can bow hunt, but you have to use your archery tag. What LB is saying is you can use your bow during rifle season as long as you tag the deer with your firearms tag, but you can't shoot a deer with a bow during ML season and tag it with your rifle tag.

Some people like the challenge of harvesting a deer with the bow over a gun, so in my opinion if you can shoot a deer with a bow during gun season and tag it with your firearms tag, you should be able to do the same thing during ML season.

the point exactly. bowseason is long. and i realize states like IA and IL only let you have one archery tag, but we got the hand we're delt. so im trying to understand why the rules are the way they are.

I asked the same question, and what I was told was the reason was due to archery season being closed during rifle season, but is open during ML season. For that reason, if you carry your bow in the woods than you can only use your archery tag.... and vice versa if you take your ML in the woods!

reb you crack me up. how is bowhuntin goin to ruin any of the gun hunters hunts? we're not the ones who take 4 wheelers all over the planet all day long and shoot guns.

and you only get to shoot one buck, so choose your method wisely.
