I am needing to get solar panels for my cams. Anyone have any recommendations or know if I have to use trail cam specific panels? I have cuddilinks.

This is where I got my solar chargers for my Cuddelink's. Free shipping, no tax and had them within a couple of days.

No you don't have to use trail cam specific panels. But a basic understanding of how to go solar on your trail cam needs to be understood before you buy anything. In a solar setup you need the solar panel itself, a charging regulator, and a battery. The easiest way to do this is to buy solar panels that has all those things in one unit like the one G4Farms suggested above and like this one I found on ebay awhile ago https://ebay.us/X0PoMj
Be aware of the voltage you need before buying one. Some are 12 volts, some are 6 volts, and some are 9 volts. Check your cams to see what voltage you need.

Another option if your camera's input port accepts 6 volts, you can get away with one of those powerbanks people use to charge phones/tablets that have a solar face on it. I'm running one right now on one of my cams that is a 6 volt cam and it works great and lasts forever because some of those powerbanks pack a lot of mAh in such a small case. I used an adapter to go from usb to a round plug for my camera. Anyways, hope that'll get you started.

12 aa last a month or two in my cuddilinks. I need solar panels they will pay for themselves quick enough plus the point of the system is I don't have to go to every cam.

You don't have any game down there do you. Not even sqweeerls!!! Lol
I have one Solar spy-point camera I'm using without any batteries. Takes decent pics and I like not having to buy batteries. I also have several Browning cams that are pretty easy on the batteries. Typically last one year.

I don't have that many *****! Usually get a year though
I'm running the cudde solar panels on my J-series cuddelink cams. In full sun they run perpetually, and they come with rechargable batteries. I've had good luck with them.

I only get **** pics when I run corn in August doing final inventory.

Yea sounds about right for them cuddilinks. Cell cams are about the same too. I run a big SLA 12volt battery in an diy enclosure for some of my cell cams and they last the entire season. Where I run the cams there's no sun so solar wasn't an option. Just a thought.
Solar panel with energizer rechargeables last me about 3 months on my coverts.Definitely beats the hell out of lasting 3 weeks

Why don't they last indefinitely? Do you have to give the batteries a good charge or are they no good anymore.

Because in bad weather weeks with lots of cloud cover and not a lot of direct sunlight if you have a lot of deer activity and lots of pictures at night time over and over again sometimes it makes it hard for solar power to catch up as the batteries are ran down at night over time.A way to make them last longer is if you have your target deer or multiple deer on camera then just make camera inactive from late at night to early hours of morning that way you save battery life that way by not worrying about pictures of deer in hours you can't kill them once you know they are there already.I just leave mine on 24/7 and just replace batteries every few months as they get low during the wet cold winter months

If you don't have the charging regulator the solar panel will actual draw power from the batteries at night. I would just get the Cuddeback solar panel setup if I were you. They've had good reviews from what I've seen.
